Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is paintball safe?
A: Paintball Is Safe!
Even more important than making sure your day is fun, is making sure your day is safe.  Safety is the number one concern of the field.  First, all players are required to wear paintball approved protective gear, which includes a paintball approved goggles system for eye and face protection.  All players are instructed in the safe handling of their paintball gun and other equipment.  Experienced referees and field staff are on hand at all times to ensure that each and every player is playing safe and by the rules.  Statistically, paintball is ranked safer than fishing by the National Safety Council.

Q: What should I bring?
A: Bring yourself, friends, family, coworkers and expectations of a fun filled day!  You should wear old, loose fitting clothing that you are not worried about getting dirty.  Try and bring clean clothes to change into before going home.  The field will provide you with all the equipment you need to play, including goggles, a paintball gun, tank, pod pack, paintballs and instruction.

When you get to the field you and the other players will be separated into teams of equal ability.  Then after being given instruction on everything from rules to safety, you will be off to a great day of fun and adventure!

Q: Do I need to wear camouflage to hide?
A: No!  It may be helpful during play in the wooded fields but is not necessary.  Paintball has evolved into bright colored clothing and equipment like sports teams so spectators can see the action.  These games are played on more visible inflatable fields called speed ball or air ball.  The game are much faster that way if you’re eliminated clean up and another game will start in just minutes, so don’t hide to long.

Q: Do Paintballs harm the environment?
A: No, paintballs are made of a gelatin shell and filled with a vegetable oil and food coloring.  You can eat them, they just taste nasty.  They clean up with just water and are approved by the FDA, EPA, & USDA.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: Playing in the rain is ok as long as you don’t mind getting wet.  All your equipment is designed to operate in rain just don’t submerge it.  Games at Chaos Paintball Park are only canceled or postponed if there is lightning or threat of severe weather.

Q: Can family & friends watch?
A: Yes! The netting around the fields is for watching without masks.  Ask a referee because sometimes the crowd can help the players

Q: How do I get started?
A:  Remember any one over 10 yrs old, men and women can play.  Bring a friend or just show up by yourself during one of the open play times.  The staff will set you up with all the equipment you need, explain the details and place you on a team.  Chaos Paintball Park has experienced staff that will make you time enjoyable

Q: Does it hurt to get hit with a paintball?
A:  It does have a sting to it but it doesn’t last long.  Being hit at close range is usually compared to someone snapping you with a towel.  The farther away your opponent is the less of an impact it has.  It’s usually the fear of being hit that’s worse than the actual splat.  All players also have all the safety equipment to make it enjoyable.

Q: How do you play paintball?
A: Remember, you don’t have to be an athlete to play paintball.  All you need is a good attitude and desire to go out and have a great time!

There are several variations of paintball, the most common being a high tech form of capture the flag.  There are two teams; each team has a home base (flag station) at the opposite side of the playing field where each team starts.  The goal is to make it from your base to your opponents and capture the flag in the process.  Of course, there is one small problem; the other team is going to do their best to shoot you and put you out of the game!  Sound like fun?  It is! Besides being fun, paintball is great exercise, a great stress reliever and promotes teamwork.
